SongForge: The Flame (Session 2: Oct. 22nd- Dec. 10th)

Songforge: The Flame is the advanced six-week creative Songforge workshop focusing on musical structure and performance. This session steps into the world of the Hallmark Musical—where small towns, big feelings, unlikely romances, and perfectly timed snow somehow always find their way into song. The Flame explores the structures that make a musical feel inevitable, giving improvisers a framework for building a complete story from beginning to end.

In this session, performers will forge a Hallmark-inspired musical entirely in the moment, discovering characters, relationships, songs, callbacks, and emotional turns within a shared structure. The familiar becomes a playground: meet-cutes become duets, misunderstandings become ballads, holiday traditions become production numbers, and every emotional revelation demands a key change. The ensemble learns how structure can create freedom, using the expectations of the Hallmark formula as a foundation for spontaneous storytelling.
